This arm cylinder is purpose-built for the working mechanism of heavy hard-rock roadheaders, mounted at the articulation between the main boom and the arm (stick). It hydraulically pitches the arm up and down to precisely control the cutting head's height and attack angle for accurate profiling in the hardest rock. With a 40 MPa ultra-high pressure design, it delivers up to 1,257 kN of thrust and 641 kN of pull. An oversized forged steel barrel, a hardened piston rod, and multi-stage high-pressure seals give it the extreme rigidity and durability needed to withstand the massive side-loads, abrasion, and impacts encountered during hard-rock cutting.
