This feed beam tensioning cylinder is a key auxiliary element of the feed system in underground bolting jumbos. Mounted on the tensioning mechanism, it applies a constant hydraulic force via a small piston stroke, keeping the drill feed chain (or steel belt) under precise tension despite high-frequency impacts.
