This mold transfer cylinder (reciprocating cylinder) is the core actuator for rapid mold changing and multi-station switching in injection molding machines. Mounted on the machine’s transfer carriage or rotary table, it hydraulically extends and retracts its piston rod at high speed to shuttle the mold from the clamping station to the injection station, or to alternate between two mold halves. A long-stroke, low-pressure high-flow design with a maximum stroke of 4,000 mm, combined with a special low-friction sealing system and anti-pressure-trap drain ports, delivers smooth, low-film, leak-free high-speed mold transfer even under high-frequency reciprocation, fast cycling, and continuous production. It significantly shortens mold-change time and boosts the overall productivity of injection molding machines.

Suitable for: 500–5,000 ton injection molding machines, multi-color/two-shot machines, high-speed molding machines, etc.
Ultra-Low Friction & Rapid Response
A filled PTFE and special polyurethane low-friction composite seal package achieves breakaway pressure as low as 0.15 MPa. Combined with large-diameter ports and low-backpressure flow paths, the cylinder reverses direction and accelerates/decelerates in milliseconds, perfectly matching high-speed injection molding cycles.
Special Drain Port Design, Anti-Pressure-Trap & Anti-Leak
Strategically placed drain channels between the guide bush and seal stack effectively evacuate the oil film accumulated during high-speed cycling, preventing pressure trapping in the seal system. The trace drained oil is piped back to the tank, eliminating external leakage contamination and improving system contamination resistance.
Long-Stroke, High-Rigidity Construction
The piston rod is made from high-yield quenched and tempered alloy steel, with hard chrome or Ni/Cr alloy plating, maintaining excellent bending stiffness even at full extension. The cylinder bore is precision honed and electroplated, and works with the guide rings to ensure stick-slip-free, vibration-free motion over the entire stroke.
Wear & Corrosion Resistance for Long Life
The piston rod surface can be upgraded with laser cladding, ceramic thermal spray, or QPQ treatment for enhanced wear and corrosion resistance in humid, dusty, or mildly acidic/alkaline environments. The sealing system is designed for the full service life of the molding machine, backed by extensive field-proven reliability.
Flexible Mounting & Maintenance-Free
Mounting dimensions, port orientations, and flange interfaces are fully customizable to the machine’s transfer carriage. Self-lubricating composite bushings in the clevises eliminate daily greasing and provide low wear and long life even under extremely high-frequency reciprocation.
