This pitch cylinder is a key actuator of the drilling boom attitude adjustment system in bolting jumbos, mounted at the articulation point between the boom tip and the feed beam. It extends and retracts to tilt the feed beam up and down, enabling precise pitch angle positioning of the rock drill for anchor bolt installation at the designed angle to achieve optimal reinforcement of the surrounding rock. A compact medium-stroke design (514 mm stroke) delivers 173 kN of thrust at 22 MPa. Combined with a high-strength alloy steel barrel, a precision hard-chrome plated piston rod, multi-stage dust-proof seals, and bidirectional cushioning, it provides stable, precise, leak-free pitch motion under the severe conditions of underground high dust, humidity, and intense vibration — a key component for ensuring bolting quality and construction safety.

Precision Pitch Positioning
The barrel is forged from high-yield-ratio quenched and tempered alloy steel, with welds UT/MT inspected and end caps FEA-optimized. The piston rod is a large-diameter thick-walled rod, precision hard-chrome plated (HV900–1100), maintaining high structural rigidity under frequent impacts and heavy vibration, ensuring accurate anchor bolt drilling angle.
High Side-Load Resistance & Guidance
Embedded wide bronze or composite guide rings with precision clearance control absorb radial forces from feed beam side loads and drilling recoil, preventing rod scoring and ensuring long-term smooth motion.
Multi-Stage Seals & Dust Protection
Multiple heavy-duty wipers and a metal scraper ring at the gland effectively block rock dust, cuttings, and underground moisture. The main seal is a hydrolysis-resistant polyurethane and filled PTFE composite, guaranteeing zero external leakage under high-pressure, high-frequency, and rock dust conditions.
Internal Cushioning for Noise Reduction
Progressive cushioning devices at both piston ends automatically decelerate and absorb impact energy at end strokes, eliminating rigid impacts, reducing noise, and protecting the articulation points and the cylinder itself.
Compact Maintenance-Free Design
The optimized envelope and mounting dimensions fit the compact boom-tip space. Self-lubricating composite bushings at all pivot points eliminate daily greasing and provide long service life under high-frequency pitch positioning.
