This rollover cylinder is the core actuator of the grinding roller maintenance and inspection system in cement vertical roller mills and roller presses. Mounted between the roller turnover arm and the machine frame, it extends or retracts its piston rod to safely raise the massive grinding roller — weighing tens of tonnes — from the working position to the maintenance position, or lower it back after replacing wear liners. A long-stroke, high-thrust double-acting design with a maximum thrust of 1,688 kN, combined with a proprietary dual-spherical-joint anti-side-load structure, high-capacity guide rings, multi-stage seals, and anti-pressure-trap drain ports, provides safe, reliable, and smooth roller rotation movement in the high-dust, high-vibration, continuous-production environment of the cement grinding shop. High-Thrust Long-Stroke for Safe Roller Handling
The large bore and ultra-long stroke raise the heavy grinding roller from the vertical working position to the horizontal maintenance position within the available envelope. At maximum extension the cylinder retains ample thrust, eliminating any risk of free-fall or uncontrolled swinging. An integrated hydraulic lock securely holds the roller at any intermediate angle.
Dual-Spherical-Joint Anti-Side-Load Structure
A proprietary dual-spherical-joint design at both ends permits flexible articulation during roller turnover, effectively absorbing radial forces from off-center roller mass, installation misalignment, or frame deflection, preventing rod bending and scoring for a greatly extended service life.
High-Capacity Guidance & Optimized Bore-Rod Ratio
The carefully proportioned bore and rod diameters, together with wide bronze or composite guide rings, significantly increase the guiding contact area and reduce sliding surface pressure. Even under full-thrust slow-speed turnover and sustained high side loads, the piston rod remains highly concentric with no stick-slip or uneven wear.
Multi-Stage Seals with Anti-Pressure-Trap Drain Ports
Strategically placed drain channels between the guide bush and seal stack rapidly evacuate oil film accumulated during movement, preventing pressure trapping and seal failure. A multi-stage polyurethane and filled-PTFE seal package ensures long-term zero external leakage; trace drained oil is piped back to the tank for strong contamination resistance.
High-Dust Environment Protection
The entire exterior receives a heat-resistant anti-corrosion coating. The piston rod can be upgraded with laser-clad nickel-based alloy or ceramic spray to resist cement dust and abrasive wear. Multiple wipers and a metal scraper ring at the gland completely block fine cement dust from entering the cylinder.
Flexible Mounting & Maintenance-Free
Mounting dimensions, port orientations, and flange connections are fully customizable to the mill manufacturer’s structure. The dual-spherical-joint or clevis ends feature self-lubricating wear-resistant bushings that require no daily greasing, maintaining low wear even after long periods of inactivity interspersed with occasional high-frequency use.
