This furnace lifting cylinder is an actuator used for raising and lowering furnace covers, electrode arms, taphole troughs, or auxiliary devices in metallurgical electric furnaces such as electric arc furnaces and ladle refining furnaces. It performs precise lifting motions with medium stroke through hydraulic control, enabling furnace cover opening/closing, trough height adjustment, and other functions. Specially designed for high-temperature radiation, dust, and periodic heavy loads, the cylinder features high-strength quenched-and-tempered alloy steel, high-temperature-resistant sealing systems, and built-in cushioning, ensuring long-term stable, leak-free operation in the harsh environment of the furnace shop — a key component for efficient melting and safe production.
PAZON
Bore: Φ90 mm
Rod: Φ50 mm
Stroke: 937 mm (according to lifting height of cover or mechanism)
Operating pressure: continuous 16 MPa, max 21 MPa
Max push force: approx. 133 kN (at 21 MPa, full-bore side)
Max pull force: approx. 92 kN (at 21 MPa, annular side)
Breakaway pressure: ≤0.3 MPa (low-friction seals, responsive)
Piston velocity: <0.5 m/s (smooth lifting)
Operating frequency: intermittent, several raise/lower cycles per heat
Internal leakage: ≤0.02 ml/min (at 16 MPa, over seal service life)
Temperature range: -20 ℃ to +150 ℃ (withstands radiant heat from furnace)
Fluid compatibility: anti-wear hydraulic oil or fire-resistant fluid
Suitable for: electric arc furnaces, ladle refining furnaces, vacuum degassing furnaces, etc.
High-Temperature Tolerance
The barrel is forged from high-strength quenched-and-tempered alloy steel; critical welds are UT/MT inspected. The piston rod is precision hard-chrome plated or laser-clad with nickel-based alloy. Guide bushings are matched with high-temperature polyurethane or FKM seals, maintaining sealing reliability under intense radiant heat.
High Side-Load Resistance & Guidance
Wide bronze or composite guide rings in the bore, together with an optimized rod-to-bore ratio, effectively absorb radial forces from cover or arm misalignment, preventing rod scoring and bending.
Multi-Stage Seals & Dust Protection
A metal scraper ring and multiple heavy-duty wipers at the gland block furnace dust, slag splashes, and contaminants. The main seal is a hydrolysis- and temperature-resistant composite, achieving zero external leakage over the full service life.
Built-in Cushioning for Noise Reduction
Progressive cushions at both ends decelerate the cylinder at end positions, absorbing impact energy and protecting the furnace cover, arms, and cylinder.
Compact & Maintenance-Free
Mounting dimensions and interfaces suit the limited space of the furnace. Self-lubricating composite bushings in the clevises eliminate daily greasing and provide long life under high-frequency and high-temperature operation.
Optional Safety Holding
A hydraulic lock or counterbalance valve can be integrated to keep the cover raised and prevent accidental lowering in case of hose rupture, enhancing personnel safety.
Special bore, rod, and stroke
Ultra-high-temperature seals (≥180 ℃)
Full stainless steel body and piston rod
Built-in displacement sensor or proximity switch
