This tilt cylinder is a core actuator for the manipulator in open-die forging press lines. Mounted between the manipulator arm and the tong carriage, it extends or retracts its piston rod to tilt the clamp head up and down, adjusting the workpiece angle on the anvil and enabling multi-step forging coordination. A double-acting heavy-duty piston design integrates wide bronze guide bushings and a V-pack sealing system, producing up to 3,141 kN of thrust while withstanding multi-directional side loads from workpiece eccentricity and manipulator vibration. Built-in displacement sensors enable closed-loop position control, and with super-nut locking, optional booster cylinders, and rotary unions, it is ideally suited for high-cycle, high-precision open-die and die-forging lines, dramatically improving the accuracy and reliability of manipulator attitude adjustment.

Massive Thrust with High Side-Load Resistance
The barrel and piston rod are made from high-yield quenched and tempered alloy steel, with FEA-optimized stress distribution. Wide-profile bronze guide bushings with precise clearance control absorb the strong radial forces during clamp head tilting, preventing rod scoring and ensuring long-term stability under full thrust.
V-Pack Sealing, Long-Life & Easy Maintenance
A multi-layer V-ring polyurethane/fabric composite seal assembly with replaceable shims automatically compensates for compression set from long-term alternating shock, maintaining zero external leakage. Seal replacement requires only gland removal, drastically reducing downtime.
Built-in Displacement Sensor, Closed-Loop Control
An internally integrated magnetostrictive displacement sensor (±0.05 mm repeatability) provides real-time piston position feedback to the press master controller. Working with servo valves, it enables precise closed-loop control of the clamp head tilt angle, improving forging rhythm and part consistency.
Super-Nut Locking for Vibration Resistance
All tie-rod and side-cylinder bolts employ mechanical super-nuts that maintain constant preload under the extreme high-frequency vibration of forging hammers, completely eliminating leakage or misalignment caused by bolt loosening.
Flexible Options: Booster Cylinder & Rotary Union
An optional integrated booster cylinder allows a significantly smaller bore while delivering the same force, reducing system cost. An optional high-pressure rotary union provides leak-free rotational freedom for piping, optimizing equipment layout.
Internal Cushioning & Noise Reduction
Progressive end-of-stroke cushions inside the cylinder automatically decelerate the piston and absorb impact energy, lowering noise and protecting the mechanical structure.
Precision Manufacturing & Maintenance-Free Pivots
Critical components are precision CNC-machined to micron-level form tolerances. All pivot points feature self-lubricating bearings, eliminating the need for grease and ensuring long wear life even at extremely high cycling rates.
