This ballast gathering plate cylinder is an actuator for the ballast regulating system of railway ballast regulating machines, mounted in pairs or groups between the gathering plate arms and the frame. During profiling, it hydraulically extends or retracts to move the plates and gather, heap, and level the ballast around the sleepers, restoring the standard ballast cross-section. A medium-stroke double-acting design (315 mm stroke) delivers 56 kN of thrust and 37 kN of pull at 18 MPa. Combined with a high-strength alloy steel barrel, a precision hard-chrome plated piston rod, multi-stage dust-proof seals, and bidirectional cushioning, it provides stable, stick-slip-free, leak-free reciprocating motion under heavy vibration, flying ballast, and all-weather outdoor conditions.

Impact-Resistant & Anti-Loosening
The barrel is high-yield-ratio quenched and tempered alloy steel; the piston rod is hard-chrome plated to withstand flying ballast impacts. Fasteners are treated to prevent loosening under sustained vibration.
Heavy-Duty Sealing & Dust Protection
Multiple wipers and a metal scraper ring effectively block ballast debris and water. The main seal is a hydrolysis-resistant polyurethane/filled-PTFE composite for zero leakage in all-weather outdoor service.
Internal Cushioning
Progressive cushions at both ends decelerate the plate at end positions, eliminating impact noise and protecting the structure.
Maintenance-Free Pivots
Self-lubricating composite bushings in the clevises eliminate greasing and provide long service life under high-frequency operation.
