The Chrome Plated ST52 Rod is a non-heat-treated precision piston rod made from ST52 carbon-manganese steel, known for its excellent weldability and balanced strength-toughness combination. Available in diameters φ6–300 mm and lengths up to 8000 mm, it features ISO f7 tolerance and a hard chrome layer of 850–1150 HV. With 96-hour salt spray rating 9, it is a cost-effective choice for medium-duty hydraulic cylinders, construction and agricultural machinery. Full customization of dimensions, heat treatment and surface finishing is supported.

PAZON
The Chrome Plated ST52 Rod is manufactured from premium ST52 (DIN 1.0580 / S355) carbon-manganese steel in a non-heat-treated condition, finished with precision grinding and hard chrome plating. ST52 is a structural steel with higher manganese content, offering a well-balanced combination of strength, toughness and superior weldability compared to CK45. It is widely used in hydraulic cylinders, construction machinery, agricultural equipment and general industrial machinery. With strict dimensional tolerances, excellent chrome layer quality and reliable corrosion resistance, this product provides a cost-effective piston rod solution for medium-duty applications.

Heat Treatment: None; customization options include Quenched & Tempered, Induction Hardening, and QPQ
Core Hardness: ≤210 HB (approx. 170–210 HB)
Surface Treatment: Hard Chrome Plated; customization options: EN Plating / Zinc Plating / Laser Cladding / Nitriding / QPQ / Thermal Spraying / Ceramic Coating
Chrome Thickness: ≥10 μm, mainly 20–40 μm; can be over 100 μm for high-standard requirements
Chrome Layer Hardness: 850–1150 HV (Vickers 100 gf)
Surface Roughness: Ra≤0.2 μm, Rt≤2 μm
Cohesion: No cracks, breaking or detaching after thermal shock (warming up at 300 ℃ and cooling in water)
Porosity: Tested according to ISO 1456/1458, evaluation according to ISO 10289 rating 8–10. Under 10× magnification, no more than 30 micro white pin-holes per 1000 mm², with diameter not greater than approx. 0.1 mm
Corrosion Resistance: Tested in neutral salt spray according to ISO 9227/ASTM B117 – 96 hours, rating 9 per ISO 10289
Weldability: Excellent (ST52 has a low carbon equivalent, offering outstanding weldability; preheating and post-weld stress relieving are recommended for critical applications)
Packing: Anti-rust oil + cardboard tube/plastic sleeve + wooden case
