This push cylinder series is the core actuator for the ramp and gangway systems of roll-on/roll-off (Ro-Ro) ships. It smoothly extends and retracts stern, side, and internal deck ramps, enabling efficient vehicle and cargo transfer between ship and shore, and between decks. Designed with a compact high-strength structure, low-friction sealing, and an integrated counterbalance valve, it provides stable, reliable, and lockable push/pull force under the harsh marine conditions of frequent cycling, wave impact, and salt spray. Optional displacement sensors or proximity switches enable real-time ramp position monitoring and safety interlock, meeting IMO and classification society requirements for Ro-Ro equipment.

Compact High-Strength Design
The barrel is fabricated from high-strength quenched & tempered alloy steel with FEA optimization, delivering ample push/pull force within tight installation envelopes. The piston rod is precision hard chrome plated or laser-clad with nickel-based alloy for wear and corrosion resistance, accommodating the offset loads and frequent articulation at ramp hinge points.
Integrated Counterbalance Valve, Safe Locking
A standard high-flow counterbalance valve or hydraulic lock instantly holds the ramp at any position. Even if a hydraulic hose bursts, the ramp will not free-fall, ensuring operator and equipment safety.
Built-in Cushioning, Smooth Operation
Progressive end-of-stroke cushioning at both ends automatically decelerates and absorbs impact during full retraction or full deployment, reducing dynamic loads on hull hinge points and ramp structures, and extending service life.
Position Detection & Intelligent Control
An optional built-in or external displacement sensor (±0.3 mm accuracy) or proximity switch provides real-time ramp position feedback, enabling remote operation, status display, and safety interlock via the bridge control system to prevent unintended ramp movement during navigation.
Comprehensive Marine Anti-Corrosion
The cylinder exterior is coated with a marine-grade heavy-duty coating system, and all fasteners are stainless steel. The piston rod is available with hard chrome, Ni/Cr alloy plating, laser cladding, or ceramic spray, with a salt spray resistance exceeding 6,000 hours, ensuring decades of rust-free service in splash zones and salt-laden atmospheres.
Flexible Mounting & Maintenance-Free Pivots
Self-lubricating composite bushings are standard in the clevises, eliminating greasing and withstanding long-term high humidity and salt spray. Mounting dimensions and port orientations are customized to the hull structure.
Complete Third-Party Certification
Type approval certificates from major classification societies — CCS, ABS, DNV, BV — are available. Full material traceability ensures compliance with SOLAS and related international regulations.
