This tail wing cylinder is an actuator for the rear-end profiling and cleaning mechanism of railway ballast regulating machines, mounted between the tail hinged arm and the tail wing blade. In the final stage of profiling, it hydraulically swings or extends the tail blade to finely trim the sleeper ends, ballast shoulders, and slope edges, ensuring a clean, well-defined ballast cross-section. An ultra-short-stroke compact design (only 85 mm stroke) delivers 56 kN of thrust and 37 kN of pull at 18 MPa, enabling rapid work-angle switching or deployment/retraction. Combined with a high-strength alloy steel barrel, a precision hard-chrome plated piston rod, and multi-stage dust-proof seals, it maintains smooth, reliable reciprocating motion under heavy dust, intense vibration, and all-weather outdoor operation.
PAZON
Bore: Φ63 mm
Rod: Φ36 mm
Stroke: 85 mm (ultra-short stroke for rapid swing/deployment)
Operating pressure: continuous 16 MPa, max 18 MPa
Max push force: 56 kN (at 18 MPa, full-bore side)
Max pull force: 37 kN (at 18 MPa, annular side)
Breakaway pressure: ≤0.3 MPa (low-friction seals, sensitive response)
Piston velocity: <0.5 m/s
Operating frequency: intermittent, several short-stroke cycles per profiling operation
Internal leakage: ≤0.025 ml/min (at 16 MPa, over seal service life)
Temperature range: -20 ℃ to +80 ℃ (standard); -40 ℃ to +120 ℃ customizable
Suitable for: railway ballast regulating machines, ballast sweeping machines, etc.
Rapid Response & Precise Positioning
The extremely short stroke combined with low-breakaway-pressure seals enables virtually instantaneous swinging or deployment/retraction of the tail wing, synchronizing the shoulder-finishing or sweeping action with the main wing operation.
Impact Resistance & Wear Protection
The barrel is high-yield-ratio quenched and tempered alloy steel; the piston rod is hard-chrome plated (HV900–1100) to effectively resist high-frequency impacts and abrasive wear from flying ballast and tail-raised dust.
Heavy-Duty Dust Sealing
A metal scraper ring and multiple heavy-duty wipers at the gland effectively block stone dust and slurry stirred up at the rear. The main seal is a hydrolysis-resistant polyurethane/filled-PTFE composite for zero leakage in all-weather service.
Compact & Maintenance-Free
The exceptionally small envelope fits the tight tail-end articulation space. Self-lubricating composite bushings in the clevises eliminate daily greasing and provide long life under high-frequency operation.
Optional Position Feedback
A built-in proximity switch or micro displacement sensor can provide real-time tail wing position feedback, enabling fully automatic ballast profiling via the main control system.
