High Dynamic Response & Low Friction
Filled PTFE composite seals and wide composite guide rings achieve breakaway pressure as low as 0.3 MPa, with negligible friction for instantaneous response to wave excitation — no lag, no stick-slip. Combined with a large-volume accumulator and proportional valve, active heave compensation maintains a near-constant draghead ground pressure.
Long Stroke & Heavy-Load Side-Load Resistance
The barrel is forged from high-toughness quenched & tempered alloy steel. The rod diameter is optimized for near-equal annular areas, accommodating rapid bidirectional flows. An extended guide bushing with high-capacity guide bands absorbs bending moments and side forces from suction tube sway, preventing rod bending and premature seal failure.
Redundant Safety Lock & Cushioning
A standard high-flow counterbalance valve locks the position instantly at any stroke — even if a hose ruptures or system pressure is lost, the draghead will not free-fall. Internal end-of-stroke cushioning absorbs impact when the compensator reaches its mechanical limits, protecting linkage and hull structures.
Full Waterproof Seal & Anti-Sediment Protection
Multiple wipers, a stainless steel scraper, and a labyrinth seal at the gland, together with a hydrolysis-resistant polyurethane/filled PTFE main seal, completely block seawater, mud, and suspended particles, ensuring zero external leakage under continuous immersion and splash.
Intelligent Monitoring & Maintenance-Free
An optional built-in magnetostrictive displacement sensor (±0.2 mm accuracy) provides real-time compensation stroke and draghead depth feedback to the dredge control system. Self-lubricating composite bushings or seawater-resistant spherical bearings at both clevises require no greasing, minimizing maintenance.
Full Marine Corrosion Protection
The cylinder exterior is coated with marine-grade heavy-duty epoxy. The piston rod is available with hard chrome, laser cladding, or ceramic spray. All fasteners are stainless steel, meeting the demands of deep-sea, intertidal, high-salinity, and intense UV conditions.
