This longitudinal shift cylinder is an auxiliary actuator of the lifting and lining system in heavy railway maintenance machines such as tamping and track lifting-and-lining vehicles, mounted on the longitudinal slide of the lifting or lining assembly. During operation, it hydraulically moves the entire assembly a short distance longitudinally along the rail to precisely position the working point, or retracts the device away from the rail when not in use. A medium-stroke double-acting design (410 mm stroke) delivers 50 kN of thrust and 30 kN of pull at 16 MPa. Combined with a high-strength alloy steel barrel, a precision hard-chrome plated piston rod, multi-stage dust-proof seals, and bidirectional cushioning, it provides stable, reliable, leak-free longitudinal movement under heavy vibration, flying ballast, and all-weather outdoor operation.

Precise Longitudinal Positioning
The barrel is high-yield-ratio quenched and tempered alloy steel; the piston rod is precision hard-chrome plated (HV900–1100), providing smooth longitudinal displacement under the weight of the assembly and track reaction forces for accurate alignment.
High Side-Load Resistance & Guidance
Wide-profile bronze or composite guide rings in the bore effectively absorb radial forces under eccentric loads and vibration, preventing rod scoring and ensuring long-term smooth operation.
Multi-Stage Seals & Dust Protection
A metal scraper ring and multiple heavy-duty wipers at the gland block ballast dust, stone chips, and water. The main seal is a hydrolysis-resistant polyurethane/filled-PTFE composite for zero leakage in all-weather service.
Internal Cushioning for Noise Reduction
Progressive cushions at both ends decelerate the cylinder at end positions, eliminating impact noise and protecting the shift mechanism and cylinder.
Compact & Maintenance-Free
Mounting dimensions suit the compact space of the longitudinal slide. Self-lubricating composite bushings in the clevises eliminate daily greasing and provide long service life under high-frequency operation.
Optional Position Monitoring
A built-in displacement sensor can provide real-time longitudinal position feedback, enabling precise closed-loop control via the main control system.
