This rail lifting hook cylinder is a key actuator of the lifting system in heavy railway maintenance machines such as tamping and track lifting vehicles. Typically mounted in pairs between the lifting frame and the hook arm, it extends its piston rod to lower the hook and reliably engage it under the rail head, then retracts the hook to a safe height after the lift. A medium-stroke double-acting design (361.5 mm stroke) delivers 80 kN of thrust and 55 kN of pull at 16 MPa. Combined with a high-strength alloy steel barrel, a precision hard-chrome plated piston rod, multi-stage dust-proof seals, and bidirectional cushioning, it provides long-term, precise, stick-slip-free, leak-free hook actuation under the severe conditions of high vibration, flying ballast, and all-weather outdoor operation on the track.

Suitable for: railway tamping machines, track lifting-and-lining machines, etc.
Precise Rail Engagement & Smooth Motion
The barrel is high-yield-ratio quenched and tempered alloy steel; the piston rod is precision hard-chrome plated (HV900–1100), providing stable and accurate hook movement under its own weight and ballast reaction forces.
High Side-Load Resistance & Guidance
Wide-profile bronze or composite guide rings in the bore effectively absorb radial forces from rail reaction and misalignment, preventing rod scoring.
Multi-Stage Seals & Dust Protection
A metal scraper ring and multiple heavy-duty wipers block ballast dust, stone chips, and water. The main seal is a hydrolysis-resistant polyurethane/filled-PTFE composite for zero leakage in all-weather service.
Internal Cushioning for Noise Reduction
Progressive cushions at both ends decelerate the hook at end positions, eliminating impact noise and protecting the mechanism.
Maintenance-Free Pivots
Self-lubricating composite bushings in the clevises eliminate daily greasing and provide long service life under high-frequency operation.
Optional Position Monitoring
A built-in displacement sensor or proximity switch can provide real-time hook position feedback, enabling a safety interlock with the main control system.
