This lateral shift anvil cylinder is a key auxiliary actuator in forging press lines. Installed between the press base and the lower anvil or anvil slide, it hydraulically moves the anvil transversely (in/out) to enable rapid anvil changeover and flexible positioning for multi-step forging operations. A double-acting piston design with an extra-long stroke (up to 5,500 mm) delivers a maximum thrust of 1,546 kN. Wide bronze guide bushings, a replaceable V-pack sealing system, an integrated magnetostrictive displacement sensor, and super-nut locking ensure precise anvil positioning, reliable zero-leakage performance, and long service life under the combined effects of heat radiation, hammer vibration, and the heavy offset loads of moving anvils—greatly improving anvil-changing efficiency and forging flexibility.

Ultra-Long Stroke & Precise Synchronization
Multiple cylinders equipped with built-in magnetostrictive displacement sensors (±0.05 mm repeatability) provide real-time position feedback for servo-proportional valve closed-loop synchronous control, ensuring the anvil travels smoothly and aligns precisely at the target station without tilting.
Heavy-Duty Side-Load Resistance
The barrel and piston rod are crafted from high-strength quenched and tempered alloy steel, with FEA-optimized stress zones. Wide bronze guide bushings with precisely controlled clearance absorb the radial forces caused by anvil eccentricity and forging impacts, preventing rod scoring or uneven guide wear and preserving long-term mechanism accuracy.
V-Pack Sealing, Long Life & Easy Maintenance
A multi-layer V-ring polyurethane/fabric composite seal pack with replaceable adjustment shims automatically compensates for compression set under sustained high pressure, temperature, and shock, ensuring zero external leakage. Seal replacement requires only gland removal, greatly reducing downtime.
Super-Nut Locking for Vibration Resistance
All cylinder tie-rod bolts employ mechanical super-nuts that maintain a constant preload under the extreme vibration of forging hammers, completely eliminating the risk of hydraulic leakage or anvil displacement caused by bolt loosening.
Flexible Options: Booster Cylinder & Rotary Union
An optional integrated booster cylinder delivers the same or higher lateral shifting force with a smaller bore and lower system pressure, reducing cost. An optional high-pressure rotary union provides leak-free rotational freedom for piping, simplifying installation layout.
Internal Cushioning & Noise Reduction
Progressive end-of-stroke cushions inside the cylinder automatically decelerate the piston at both extremes, absorbing impact energy, lowering noise, and protecting the anvil slide and the cylinder itself.
Precision Manufacturing & Maintenance-Free Pivots
Key components are precision CNC-machined to micron-level form tolerances, ensuring high concentricity of the barrel, rod, and bushings. All pivot points feature self-lubricating bearings that require no grease, delivering low wear and long service life even under high-duty cycling.
